Air Force Veteran Hit and Killed by a Driver Who Failed to Yield the Right of Way

Searcy collided with the van and was ejected from the bike.

 

He died at the scene of the accident.

 

The driver of the minivan did not sustain any injuries and the source didn’t indicate whether there were any pending charges against him. According to the obituary that was released for Searcy, he had been on his way to work at Sikorsky Helicopters in Jupiter Farms where he worked as a flight test engineer. Searcy was also an “Air Force veteran who was honorably discharged after four years of service as the crew chief on a C-130 aircraft.” He left behind a wife who is expecting their first child in July. The family set up a GoFundMe account online to help raise money for Searcy’s wife. They had already raised $46,904 after the news report was broadcasted and hopefully, they were able to collect more over the course of the last few weeks.
